Apple Music for Android: WhatsApp Sharing, Pinning, and New Widgets

The app now allows users to share songs, albums, playlists, and lyrics directly to WhatsApp. This integration removes the need to manually copy and paste links between apps, streamlining the process of sharing music content with contacts.

Home Screen Widgets

New home screen widgets let users pin their go-to playlists and listen to live radio stations directly from the Home screen. According to CNET's coverage of the iOS 26 update, which introduced similar functionality to the iPhone Music app, these widgets include medium- and large-size options for pinned music, as well as a large Live Radio widget. The Android version now offers comparable widget functionality.

Pin Favorites in Library

Apple's support documentation confirms that users can now pin favorite albums, playlists, or artists so they remain at the top of the library. A YouTube walkthrough demonstrates the process: long-press an album, select "Pin album," and it moves to the top of the library view. This organizational feature reduces scrolling for users with large libraries.

The pinning feature and the new widgets work together: pinned items can be surfaced quickly through the dedicated pinned music widgets, while the Live Radio widget provides one-tap access to Apple Music's radio stations.
