Hulu App Update: July 2026 Edition

Hulu App Update: July 2026 Edition

Hulu pushed a new version of its Android app on July 21, 2026. The official Play Store listing says the release is about “a slew of updates and fixes” and encourages users to update to take advantage of them. That’s the extent of Hulu’s own description — no detailed changelog, no bullet points.

So what’s actually in this build? The available sources point to a mix of content additions and the usual performance housekeeping.

What’s Landing on Hulu

The July slate is heavy on catalog titles. Decider’s list of new arrivals includes *The Wolf of Wall Street* (2013), *Titanic* (1997), and the entire *Twilight* saga — *Twilight*, *New Moon*, *Eclipse*, *Breaking Dawn Part 1*, and *Breaking Dawn Part 2*. Spanish-language versions of *The Wolf of Wall Street* and *Titanic* are also listed.

TV Guide’s August preview mentions the return of *Adults* for its second season on FX, plus a new Ryan Murphy and Bret Easton Ellis thriller called *The Shards*, set in 1980s Los Angeles. That one sounds like it could be either compelling or completely unhinged. Possibly both.

JustWatch’s new releases page for Hulu highlights the service’s original programming track record — *The Handmaid’s Tale*, *Only Murders in the Building*, *The Bear* — but doesn’t specify which July or August titles are tied to this particular app update.

The Practical Take

Content additions don’t always require an app update. Often they’re server-side. But the timing of this build — mid-July, right before a wave of August premieres — suggests the update may include backend changes to support new features or playback improvements for the incoming titles.

The Play Store listing also mentions “fixes.” That’s vague, but welcome. Streaming apps are notoriously prone to weird buffering issues and UI stutter after major content drops.

One Thing That’s Not New

The T-Mobile “Hulu ON US” deal page has been updated with new phone listings — iPhone 17 series, Galaxy Z Fold7, various watches — but that’s a carrier promotion, not an app feature. Don’t expect anything in the Hulu app itself related to that.

Bottom Line

This appears to be a standard maintenance release timed with a content refresh. If you’ve been having playback issues or just want the Twilight saga in 4K (assuming Hulu supports it), go ahead and update. Otherwise, the app will probably work fine without it for a while.
