Nintendo Switch 2 eShop Update Adds Wish List Sorting and More

Nintendo has released system update 22.5.0 for both the Nintendo Switch 2 and original Switch, bringing several user-facing changes to the eShop and system accessibility.

The Nintendo eShop layout has been redesigned. Users can now sort products in the Wish List tab by release date and price. This gives shoppers more control over how they browse their saved items.

The eShop color now reflects the theme color when the system theme in System Settings is set to "Basic Dark." This change makes the storefront match the user's chosen interface preference.

A new User-Verification PIN option lets users require a PIN when accessing the Nintendo eShop and when using saved payment methods. This adds an extra layer of purchase protection.

Video playback in News and the Nintendo eShop now supports 10-second rewind and advance using the ZL and ZR Buttons. This works when watching full-screen video content in either app.

On the accessibility side, Dutch and Russian have been added to the "Text to Speech" languages. The same two languages are now available for the "Change Speech ⇔ Text During GameChat" feature in Accessibility settings.

The update also includes general system stability improvements. Nintendo's official patch notes confirm these changes went live on June 15, 2026.

The Wish List sorting feature addresses a long-standing user request. Community discussions on platforms like Facebook have noted that while the Switch 2 eShop improved significantly at launch, the ability to sort wish list items by criteria like time remaining was still missing. The new sorting options by release date and price fill that gap.
