AMS Connect New Features & Updates

Service Team Pagers, Recurring Messages, and Time Zone Scheduling

The latest version of AMS Connect appears to introduce three meaningful changes for teams that rely on the app for shift-based communication and automated outreach.

Based on the update text and supporting documentation, the most notable addition is two-way Service Team pager conversations with read receipts. The existing quick-start guides already describe how to view read receipts within individual conversations—tapping a message reveals whether it’s been read and at what time. What’s new here is the extension of that functionality to Service Team pager threads, and making those conversations bidirectional. Previously, pager-style messages to service teams may have been one-way broadcasts. Now recipients can reply, and senders can see when their messages have been seen. For anyone coordinating field technicians, on-call rotations, or facility staff, that’s a practical upgrade. You no longer have to wonder if a critical alert landed in a void.

The update also points to the ability to create recurring messages for automated reminders and notifications. This is a feature that scheduling apps have offered for years, but it’s new territory for AMS Connect. The idea is straightforward: set a message to repeat daily, weekly, or on a custom cadence, and the app sends it automatically. The public source material from a sister product, Scheduled, describes one-off or recurring scheduling for time-sensitive reminders that “don’t get lost in an inbox.” That same logic appears to be coming to AMS Connect. If you’ve ever had to manually send the same shift reminder every Friday at 3 PM, this should save you some taps.

The third change is time zone selection for one-time and recurring schedules. This is a subtle but important one. If your team spans multiple time zones—or if you’re scheduling a message for someone in a different region—you can now specify which time zone the schedule should follow. The quick-start guide already shows date and time pickers for scheduling Service Teams. Adding explicit time zone selection means fewer “did you mean Eastern or Pacific?” moments. It’s the kind of detail that separates a tool built for real-world operations from one that assumes everyone lives in the same clock.

I’ll be honest: none of these features are flashy. They’re the kind of incremental, reliability-focused improvements that don’t make headlines but do make a difference for people who use the app daily. Two-way pager conversations with receipts close a feedback loop. Recurring messages reduce cognitive load. Time zone selection prevents errors. Together, they suggest the team behind AMS Connect is paying attention to how their product actually gets used—in hospitals, in logistics, in any setting where messages have consequences.

As always, these features may roll out gradually. The version change is confirmed, but server-side switches or phased deployments could mean not every user sees them immediately. Keep an eye on your app’s settings and scheduling screens.
